Use the footpath to walk around to the main entrance Behaviour and DisciplineWe expect our children to be well behaved at all times. We believe that children can take increasing responsibility for how they behave, and teachers will need to ‘control’ behaviour’ less and less as children grow older. This includes the use of manners, playground behaviour, and classroom behaviour and learning.
A safe environment is vital for all children. Should you ever have problems, let us know asap. We deal with
all misbehaviour in an appropriate manner, there are consequences for bad behaviour. Let us know when our
children behave well too, they respond well to acknowledgement! Absences and LatenessWhen your child is absent (including sickness), please ring the school office and give your child’s name, classroom number/teacher, date of absence and reason for absence. For longer periods of absence please inform your child’s class teacher with a written note or email. Please sign your child in at the school office when your child arrives late, no matter what the reason. Also sign your child out if you are leaving school early on any given day, again no matter what the reason.Back to top Collectables in the school playgroundNo cards or collectables are to be swapped, bought, sold, or given away at school. Teachers will not become involved in disputes over cards, other than to confiscate. Cards seen in the playground or being swapped or traded or disputed will be taken from the child/ren and returned at the end of the day. If there is disagreement as to who owns the cards, they will given to the DP or principal to decide - usually by contacting parents. Collectables (eg marbles) may be used for games but where ongoing problems occur staff will meet and an announcement will be made asking children to leave collectables at home. Collectables brought to school after this announcement will be taken from the child and returned at the discretion of the principal.Back to top Activity Fee & School DonationActivity Fee - we charge an annual fee for stationery, copying, visiting performance, learning portfolios. You must pay this fee. It is separate to the school donation.School Donations - we send notices out for school donations during the school year. Although these are voluntary, they are invaluable in enabling us to provide our unique programmes. All school donations are used to fund curriculum resources. School donations are currently $120 for one child, $160 for a family. Back to top Book BagsAll children need a book bag to take school readers home and back to school in good condition. No book bag and reader returned to school = no reader home .Back to top CommunicationParents are welcome in our school. The principal is usually always available.
