Haere mai ki te kura o Tawa - Welcome to Tawa School.
It is an honour to be part of this awesome learning community. I am a strong believer that schools can be a real community hub where tamariki and their whānau are all engaged in the learning process to see them thrive and become amazing citizens of Aotearoa NewZealand
As a school, we are privileged to have outstanding teachers who always have the best interests (whether they are academic or personal) of their tamariki at heart.
I was born in Liverpool, England before moving to Auckland, New Zealand as an infant. I became a teacher in 1995 where I taught four years at Arahoe School before moving to Wellington in 1999. I taught and held leadership positions (Team Leader / Associate Principal) at Discovery School until July 2018 when I became Principal here at Tawa School.
I am married to Tam (also a teacher) and have two awesome teenagers, Emma and Ethan. I live in Pukerua Bay and enjoy great coffee, music, whānau and friends and being part of our church community.
We are a friendly school, so please know that you are welcome here and my door is always open for you to come by, ask questions or simply have a chat.
